My child's diagnosis is ptosis (underdeveloped muscles of the upper eyelids). As early as 2-3 months of age, the pediatrician noticed that he could not open his eyes 100%, and at 6 months of age, she sent us for an eye examination. The associate professor in Bulgaria confirmed the diagnosis. This can only be corrected surgically, but the associate professor explained that the child must turn 3 years old to have it performed here in Bulgaria. For us, 3 years is too late, because if we had waited that long, there could have been damage, and the constant tilting of the head would have remained as a habit that most likely could not have been unlearned. An acquaintance recommended Professor Arifoglu to us and gave us his contact information. His little daughter is his patient.
And so fate brought us together with this incredible specialist, who always greets and sends off his patients with a smile on his face. He monitored Gogo's condition, and after he turned 1 year old, we scheduled a date for the surgery. Today my child has a new outlook on the world and is happy thanks to the golden hands of Prof. Arifoğlu. We thank him from the bottom of our hearts!
