My name is Elina Petrova, 46 years old, and the patient is my daughter, 14 years old. She was operated on at Okan University Hospital in Istanbul.
The Story:
My daughter has a congenital malformation of syndactyly and polydactyly of both legs. We consulted with two orthopedists in Bulgaria who were adamant that she should have surgery because the extra bones in her feet were already deforming the entire foot and my daughter was in pain. However, they refused to operate and one of them referred us to a children's orthopaedic clinic in Vienna. There we found out that the amount for the treatment was prohibitive for us.
Until then, for about 3 years we searched the internet for information about orthopaedic surgeons whose expertise was in this field. This is how we came across the information from ZIC "Medical Karaj" that Dr. Jengiz had come to Bulgaria to conduct consultations and examinations. We approached them for help and to book an appointment for our next visit with Dr. Jenghiz.
I would like to express my special thanks to Antonia, who was the first person I contacted and who showed an extremely caring and honest attitude to our case. Our decision to trust Dr. Jenghiz was made after some research on our part of his professional experience and the cases he handles. Dr. Jenghiz is truly an amazing doctor, professional and last but not least a HUMAN. He operated on both of my daughter's legs at once, which still seems amazing to us. We would also like to express our special thanks to Güleiha - this was the person who did not just formally perform her duties as a translator from Turkish to Bulgarian. Güleiha made us feel like we were not far from home, made us feel safe and secure. You cannot imagine what that means when you are in a difficult situation. Her empathy and care cannot be measured by anything. At the hospital we found besides professionals who helped us, we made new friends.
The conditions and the professional attitude of everyone at the Medical Karadži Centre and at the Okan Hospital are at an extremely good level. The care and attention we received there is invaluable.
