I am the mother of a 7 year old who was diagnosed with epilepsy two months ago. After being examined in Bulgaria and starting therapy that was not appropriate for him, he continued to have epileptic seizures. Together with my husband we decided to seek another opinion, because besides the fact that our child continued to have seizures, he deteriorated significantly (he was inadequate, hyperactive, his thought flow was not correct).
Then I contacted the team of "Medical Carrage" and on the same day I had an appointment with Assoc. Sinan Chomu (pediatric neurologist). We left for Turkey. When we arrived everything was organized and together with the translator we went in for an examination with the doc. He was extremely demanding and wanted to know every single detail about the child's condition. He examined the child extremely carefully and ordered new tests (MRI and EEG).
After we did the tests we went back to the doc together with the interpreter (he was by our side at all times, which made me feel safe), and he also confirmed the diagnosis of epilepsy, but explained that the therapy that was prescribed in Bulgaria was not adequate for his age and that we should slowly change it. We are now substituting one of the medications and even during the substitution the child is much better and starting to return to his normal lifestyle. We are still at the beginning of treatment.
