  • In 1993 Prof. Dr. Martin Schindl received his doctorate from the University of Vienna.
  • In 2000 he became a specialist in surgery
  • In 2005 he became senior physician at the University Clinic of Surgery at the Medical University of Vienna.
  • Between 2002 and 2004 he was awarded an Erwin Schrödinger FWF Research Fellowship at the Royal Edinburgh University Hospital
  • In 2007 Prof. Dr. Martin Schindl became a doctor with his own practice
  • The same year he received the Theodor Billroth Prize of the Austrian Society of Surgery
  • From 2007 to 2009 he studied a Master's degree in Health Economics at the Danube University in Krems.
  • In 2010 he became head of the specialised outpatient department for pancreatic and biliary surgery at the University Clinic of Surgery of the Vienna General Hospital (AKH)
  • From 2010 to 2012 he did a master's degree in teaching medicine at the University of Heidelberg
  • In 2014, Prof. Dr. Martin Schindl was certified as a clinical researcher
  • Between 2014 and 2019, he was recertified as an expert in surgery
  • In 2016, he became team leader for pancreatic and biliary tract surgery at the University Clinic of Surgery, Department of Visceral Surgery and coordinator of the pancreatic cancer unit at the Comprehensive Cancer Center, Medical University/General Hospital Vienna (AKH)
  • In 2019, he received the title of "University Professor"

He is a member of numerous professional societies, including the Austrian Society of Surgical Oncology (ACO-ASSO).
