  • In 2006 he became a private lecturer in surgery at the Medical University of Vienna,
  • Again in 2006 he became Associate Professor of Surgery at the Medical University of Vienna,
  • In 2009. Prof. Fitzal was recognized in the field of surgical oncology through Board Certification by the European Society of Surgical Oncology,
  • Again in 2009, he received recognition in the field of visceral surgery through Board Certification from the Austrian Society of Surgery,
  • In 2017, he received his Master's degree in Healthcare Management, at the University Business School in Vienna,

Prof. Dr. Florian Fitzal is a member of:

  • Since 2010 he has been a board member of the Austrian Society of Senology,
  • From 2008 to 2014, he was head of a group of Austrian thoracic surgeons from the Austrian Society of Surgical Oncology,
  • From 2015 to 2018 he was a board member of the Austrian Society of Surgical Oncology,
  • From 2017 to the present, he has been a board member of the Austrian Breast and Colorectal Cancer Study Group (ABCSG),
  • From 2018 to the present, he has been a board member and co-founder of the Oncoplastic Breast Consortium (OPBC),
  • In 2019, she became a member of the St Gallen Consensus for Early Breast Cancer.
