  • Prof. Dr. Berit Schneider-Stikler studied human medicine in Berlin and received her PhD in 1995 in the field of classification and diagnosis of functional voice disorders,
  • He trained as an ENT specialist at the University Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic of Humboldt University in Berlin and continued at the University ENT Clinic in Essen, where he passed the ENT specialist examination in 1998,
  • Additionally, he specialised in phoniatrics at the Clinical Department of Phoniatry and Speech Therapy at the University Clinic for Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases in Vienna,
  • Since 1998, she has chaired the annual International Lectures and Discussions on Voice Disorders in Actors and Singers (VGRSSS). Since then she has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Austrian Society for Speech Pathology, Phoniatrics and Paediatric Audiology,
  • Since 2004 Deputy Head of the Clinical Department of Phoniatry and Speech Therapy at the Medical University of Vienna,
  • Since 2007, she has held the position of Vice-Chair at the Clinical Department of Phoniatry and Speech Therapy at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the Medical University of Vienna,
  • From 2010 to 2020, Dr. Schneider-Stikler served as Vice President of the Austrian Society of Music and Medicine,
  • From 2014 until now he has been the President of the Austrian Society of Speech Pathology, Phoniatry and Pediatology,
  • In 2021, she was a founding member of the Neuro Laryngology Working Group of the Austrian Society of ENT Medicine, Head and Neck Surgery;

Additional information

Dr. Schneider-Stikler completed her singing studies at the Hanns Eisler Music Academy in Berlin. She regularly performs as a solo singer and supports a number of charity projects that deal with life and coping with illness.
