  • Dr. Michael Hafner graduated from the Sacre Cœur Pressbaum secondary and higher school in Austria in June 1987,
  • Studied medicine at the University of Vienna (Austria) and at the Università degli Studi Perugia (Italy) - graduated as Doctor of Medicine on 23 January 1995,
  • From 1996 to 2002 Dr. Hafner studied internal medicine at the Medical University of Vienna (Austria). He also trained in cardiology, hemato-oncology, intensive care medicine, emergency medicine and infectious disease medicine,
  • Between 2002 and 2005 he pursued training in gastroenterology and hepatology,
  • In 2004 he completed an internship in the endoscopy department at the Policlinico Agostino Gemelli, Università del Sacro Cuore in Rome,
  • Since 2005, he has been appointed "Scientific Administrator" at the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) in London,
  • Between 2005 and 2007, Dr. Hafner was appointed "Senior Clinical Specialist" at Prince Court Medical Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia,
  • In the same year, 2005, he organized a practical training course in interventional endoscopy in Durban, South Africa,
  • In the same year, he also started full-time teaching at the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) Training Centre as part of the United European Gastroenterology Week,
