AUTOBIOGRAPHY

Prof. Dr. Semra Kahraman is a world-renowned specialist in in vitro fertilization and reproductive genetics. She has more than 29 years of experience in her field.

Prof. Dr. Semra Kahraman completed her medical studies at Hacettepe University in Ankara in 1981. She specialized in obstetrics and gynecology at Ankara University in 1989. He received the title of "associate professor" in 1994 and "professor" in 2004.

Professional experience

  • Since 2000 - Head of the IVF Department at Memorial Shishli Hospital, Istanbul
  • 1993-2000 - Head of the IVF department at the private hospital "Sevgi"
  • 1991-1992 - In vitro fertilization specialist at Klinikk Hausken Oslo (Norway).

Prof. Dr. Kahraman is the author of more than 150 works on infertility issues. Her research interest is preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) and controlled ovarian stimulation.

Prof. Dr. Semra Kahraman is an expert in infertility treatment, IVF, andrology and genetics.

She is a pioneer in ICSI, embryo freezing and preimplantation genetic diagnosis for single gene disorders and HLA typing and aneuploidy testing in Turkey. Together with her team, they provided Turkey's first embryonic stem cell isolation and establishment.

Professor Kahraman and her team have facilitated the birth of over 10,000 babies.
