Prof. Dr. Mutlu Arat

Prof. Dr. Mutlu Arat is a leading clinical researcher in the field of malignant hematology and adult bone marrow transplantation. Since 2000, he has made significant contributions to this area, authoring 385 scientific publications.

Until 2010, he worked at Ankara University as a medical transplant coordinator, where 1800 transplants were performed under his leadership. After moving to Istanbul, his team performed over 2000 apheresis procedures and 1500 stem cell transplants.

Since 2011, the transplant team led by Prof. Arat has been a full member of the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT), with over 1500 registered patients. Since 2022, they have been participating in the EBMT benchmarking program, which includes regular reporting and evaluation through survey systems.

The team has extensive experience performing allogeneic transplants on over 800 patients, with half of the donors being unrelated. Active clinical trials involving over 400 patients diagnosed with multiple myeloma are also being conducted.

Prof. Dr. Arat has been an active inspector for JACIE (Joint Accreditation Committee for Hemopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation) since 2004.
