I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 66

Диагнозата рак на гърдата получих на 66-годишна възраст

You provide a boutique service, of high quality, and it is a way out of the problems inherent in patient care within the Bulgarian healthcare system.

I am eternally grateful to Eleni Dimitrova for her incredibly cordial attitude, professional attention and care throughout the time before, during and after the return from Medipol Mega Hospital .

I am fascinated by Sibel's professionalism and tireless work accompanying us to the hospital, translating and facilitating all aspects of my hospital procedures, check-in, and transportation.

Oncologist Dr. Özcan Yıldız exemplifies competence, health, setting, attitude. All the staff and administrators at the Turkish hospital were spot on, literally and figuratively.

The employees, intermediaries and partners of Medical Carragee work impeccably, selflessly, predictably and without unregulated interests. They deliver on their promises and exceed expectations.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 66. In the following year I underwent 8 infusions of chemotherapy and 25 days of radiation. For the remaining approximately 300 days a year, I lived mostly out of the hospital, creating my health, which I took as my personal duty. Two months after I turned 68, the PET scanner reported a complete absence of scat and tumor cells.

During this period, I sometimes had to synchronize my plans with scheduled days for infusions, tests, etc., but that didn't stop me from keeping the will to heal in between these treatments. And you make sure to count yourself in!

A healing life mobilizes many, brings new meaning, guarantees more health and pleasant emotions and surpasses predictions. I have rediscovered foods and herbs that create health, vitality and purification and have consumed them in generous quantities. I was moving and not getting stuck. I was rigorous and demanding of myself and I did not feel sorry for myself. Passionately dedicated to my healing, I had no time to be afraid.

The doctors who diagnose, operate, coordinate, administer and "drug" us, do their work under regulation and control and for them it is more than a vocation and stress, it is also their main income. On the other hand, I am convinced that we, as patients, have a more sincere and more personal calling to have our own bodies healed. It is our job to find the information, strength and organization daily with which to continue to heal on the many days outside the hospital.

About a month after the radical mastectomy, I found out that there would be a presentation in my town about the services performed by Karadji Medical. After meeting Eleni and Zvezdelina, I had a new outlook on my future treatment. I went through countless risky long lines for infusions, radiation, tests and disability in Bulgaria, and in parallel I energized myself with detoxification and healthy eating, movement and healthy thinking, even during the days of hospital stay. All the while, I thought and knew I owed it to myself to get a PET scan.

Because I could not get a referral for a PET scanner during my whole therapy in Bulgaria, I researched what are the conditions for this examination to be done for a fee in our country and in Turkey. In the Istanbul hospital, the scanner, together with transport and stay for me and my daughter cost less than the cost of the imaging alone in Bulgaria. I did not wait for months for my turn to come, nor did I wait months to get my result. I received the disc with the good readings the same day. We stayed for free in a guest house at the Medipol Mega Hospital. As inadequate as the following slight digression is in this context, you have to keep in mind that the conditions are luxurious, even compared to hotel accommodation. The four-room apartment we both stayed in had all the amenities and materials for hygiene, cooking and laundry. Three free meals a day were provided. Unlike Bulgarian hospitals, we did not bring gauze, cotton, anchor plasters, contrast, night linen, a little extra disinfectant to be on the safe side, nor did we pay for TV at 1-2 leva per hour. The modern furnishings, the cleanliness, the independence and calm, both in the guest house and in the hospital itself, and most of all the perfect PET scan result, left us feeling like we had had a rewarding trip.

If you let your treatment for breast cancer be limited to the prescriptions of the clinical pathway, in the order of the channel: infusions, irradiations, hormones, you may not be guaranteed an ideal result from the PET scanner. But if you choose to be examined at a Medicare partner hospital, you are guaranteed to receive a competent medical service that is, on top of that, more cost-effective, practical and luxurious.

With the sincere belief that it is possible for you, like me, to triumph with a similar disc from the PET scanner, I will try to summarize the recipe of my success. Anything natural, especially in raw form, that feeds and cleanses; anything natural that feeds and boosts immunity; anything natural that feeds and boosts alkalinity in the body; anything natural that feeds and slows or prevents the growth of cancer cells. I have also consumed herbal decoctions, juices and certain vitamins, always preferable as a natural source, which I also believe you will soon discover by reading, asking and seeking. Make and follow these your individual compilations and enjoy the adventure that affirms your love and care for yourself, proves love to your loved ones and amazes you about the unsuspected powers your soul and body possess.

In addition, all organizations and campaigns that educate about the causes, prevention and treatment of cancer, and that inform about socialization and improving the well-being of cancer patients are our friends. It is a sin to pass them by!

Personally, I wouldn't forgive myself for being medicated for 5 years for a stage-specific diagnosis that wasn't confirmed by a PET scan.

The numbers from the tests, the statistics, the doctors' predictions, and the values that the TELC assesses you with will not leave the biggest mark on your life. They don't stop you from living on mission, leaving your mark on more lives, your heart open to new happy scars. For me, cancer and other chronic diagnoses are not the only thing I have. Even treatment is not the only thing that makes my days meaningful. There's a lot more on my agenda as long as I live. Epitaphs are not my resume. Don't let living as a clinical pathway number.....!

Boyanka Ignatova, 68 years old
